AVOC seeks gay male buddies

to starting the buddy training class, new volunteers need to complete a day of AIDS awareness training which will be held on Saturday, February 3, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati (AVOC) is seeking gay male volunteers for the Buddy Program, one of the many services the organization provides in the greater Cincinnati area. According to Diane Long, AVOC's volunteer coordinator, all volunteers are welcome but there is a specific need for gay male buddies. "Many people are not aware that only one-fifth of our 610 volunteers are gay men," Long said. The twelve week buddy training class will meet from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday evenings at the offices of AVOC, 2183 Central Parkway, beginning Thursday, March 14. Prior
